For this anniversary year, we could have chosen to talk you about all the wonderful memories we have of the last 19 years. From the year « 0 » in the multipurpose room or the Dantesque storm of the first one, to the shivers felt during Linda Hopkins’s show in 2006 or Wes Mackey’s last year, there is always a lot of emotion.
Whether in the past, the present or the future, we will never thank you enough: the visitors, volunteers, institutional and private partners who have been accompanying us throughout the years and for whom we have set up this new edition.
A year full of novelties:
2016 will be full of innovations; this year the festival proposes you to discover or rediscover the jazz history through an expo and a boogie piano masterclass. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to visit the surroundings of the village during the delocalized concerts.
Eventually, Sunday will be definitely oriented towards party and dance with a free great swing ball starting at 5 p.m. until the rest of the night, in association with the Swing Août Festival that will last until the 21st of August.
A high-quality international programming:
Last year, many of you underlined the quality and the variety of the programming made by Jean-Paul AMOUROUX. Well, when discovering this year’s we were quite amazed because there is something for everyone.
Do you like boogie? You found the right place (and you have found it for the last 19 years). You will be able to listen to and dance with Louis Coloma, Jean-Pierre Bertrand or even Silvan Zingg and Katharina Albert. You like orchestras better? Whether in the IN or the OFF there is going to be quite some fun: the Tuxedo Big band or the Rolling Dominos will seduce you, not to mention the blues musicians present this year again.
Eventually, we cannot end without talking about the coming back of a couple of dancers we particularly care about, our darlings sort of speak (and hopefully, soon yours as well) because in 2016 William MAUVAIS and Maéva TRUNTZER come back on our stage with Silvan ZINGG playing the piano, this trio has more than 8 million views on Youtube with a video shot in… Laroquebrou!
We wish you all a very good and happy festival, make the best out of it and see you in 2017 in this same room, although it will be a lot bigger!
